Choate Mental Health Center Replaces Bailey System with SLC RetroPAK

MicroMod Automation together with Advance Boiler Control Services and FCx Performance have been awarded the project to upgrade Choate Mental Health Center's three coal-fired stoker boilers. The obsolete Bailey SLC controllers on the boilers will be replaced with MicroMod's SLC RetroPAK controllers, and the Net 90 system on the turbine monitoring system with be replaced with MODCELL Multiloop Processors. The whole system will be tied into a new MicroMod Micro-PWC HMI, replacing the Bailey operating station.

Choate decided on MicroMod's RetroPAK solution because it provides the easiest path to current technology. Ease of installation, elimination of potential startup issues and the ability to maintain the same basic architecture and operating philosophy were all factors in Choate's decision.
