Bruce Power Nuclear Station Upgrades to Micro-DCI

Bruce Power generating station in Ontario, Canada, had been operating with a 30-year-old control system and knew it was time to upgrade. Because of MicroMod's installed based and ABB Canada's application experience in other nuclear stations, Bruce Power chose the MicroMod-ABB team to provide the new controls.

Well over one hundred 53MC5000 controllers are replacing the old Fischer & Porter Scan-Line control system, which had become increasingly harder to maintain. The new controllers are also being incorporated into the simulation system for operator and maintenance training.
